The administrative fellowship program provides preparation in executive development for future healthcare leaders through a combination of departmental rotations, problem-solving projects and participation in managerial functions throughout various organizational and operational settings within Northwell Health. This gives the fellows a valuable opportunity to gain practical operational experience and knowledge of the various aspects of health care, along with contact and interaction with all levels of leadership throughout the health network under executive-level mentorship.

The fellowship is a 12-month program that consists of facility and departmental rotations, project management, one-on-one mentoring, and attendance at various health system meetings and events. Each administrative fellow is assigned a member of the senior leadership team as a mentor/advisor for the duration of the fellowship program.

Participants will be assigned rotations based on their interests and discussion with their assigned mentor/advisor. The rotations will expose the fellows to many areas within the health system and health care. Fellows are assigned several projects in their rotations. These projects enable the fellows to fully immerse themselves in the departments and facilities to which they are assigned.

**The first round of the NAFCAS 2018-2019 application cycle is NOW CLOSED.The NAFCAS application will reopen for a second round on November 27, 2018.  During the second round, please pay particular attention to the deadline listed for each site, which will vary during the cycle. All second round NAFCAS applications will close on or before January 31, 2019.**


All interested candidates should apply  here. The application requirements include:

  1. Cover Letter
  2. Curriculum Vitae/Resume
  3. Official Graduate School Transcript (Visit the "Academic History" quadrant to submit colleges attended and to download the Transcript Request Form for your registrar's office. Transcripts should be sent directly from your registrar's office to NAFCAS)
  4. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (to be requested in the  "Supporting Information" quadrant): (1) ACADEMIC, (1) PROFESSIONAL, and (1) OTHER (academic, professional, or letter from your  program director)
  5. One Essay addressing the following questions:   
    • Why have you chosen to pursue a post graduate fellowship?  
    • What motivated your interest in Health Services Management?
